Infectious Disease Ward of the Central District Hospital under Construction in Chara (Kalar District)
Infectious disease module with overall area up to 1,200 m2 is under construction in the territory of Kalar district central hospital. Construction is performed based on prefabricated modules enabling to complete the works before the end of summer.

Prior to that, all required preparatory works were performed at the construction site, including demolition of the old building of in-patient infectious disease unit and vertical levelling.

Engineering and construction of the module is fully financed by Baikal Mining Company.

The infectious disease ward under construction is divided into areas as follows: emergency room with two exam rooms, 10 patient`s rooms with modern conveniences with individual entries, two intensive care units with state-of-the-art equipment, and  laboratory working based on PCR capable of performing immunnoferment analysis and immuno-chemical-fluorescence analysis.

The in-patient unit is capable of accommodating up to 20 patients and will operate 24/7. A 10-flat residential building will be built in the vicinity of the new ward for medical staff.  

On June 22 Baikal Mining Company additionally handed over a thousand sets of individual safety gear and disinfectants for medical staff to Kalar district central hospital.

Earlier, the central district hospital received medical equipment required for treatment of patients with pneumonia. Intensive care ward of the hospital was repaired and equipped with artificial respirators. The hospital received sets of individual safety gear for doctors and medical staff, sets of infectiologist safety garments, and various equipment from medical intensive care beds and oxygen concentrators to medical waste disposal.
