Baikal Mining Company LLC uses its own pilot plant for integrated process and analytical support of exploration works and deposit appraisal, for pilot plant tests and optimization of the Udokan deposit ore processing flow sheet.
| Pilot plant
Ore throughput is up to 4 t/h
The pilot plant was put into operation in 2006, and in December 2011 it was incorporated into BMC LLC. As a result of upgrade held in 2012-2013, the pilot plant is equipped with state-of-the-art process, laboratory and analytical equipment ensuring high reliability of the results obtained.
Composition of the complex
The pilot plant includes crushing and grinding stations; flotation, gravity and electromagnetic beneficiation areas; a hydrometallurgical plant, including leaching, solvent extraction, electrowinning and dewatering circuits; reagent preparation circuit, a chemical technology laboratory and a tailings storage facility.

The equipment flow sheet provides a flexible configuration of flotation and hydrometallurgical processing flow sheets, including in combination with other beneficiation methods. It is possible to use gravity and other equipment practically in any point of the process flow sheet.
Ore throughput is up to 4 t/h with the maximum feed size 350 mm.
The plant has a certified diversified chemical technology laboratory, which includes process, analytical and mineralogical sections. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art process and analytical equipment allowing to do research in beneficiation and metallurgical areas, as well as to study material composition of ore samples and its conversion products.
The pilot plant has its own heat, power and water supply systems, maintenance office, motor transport and special-purpose transport fleet and an open ore storage, all of which provides autonomous uninterruptible year-round operation.
